Thank you to Women in Music and Arts Members
To the members of Women in Music and Arts for an amazing show last night and to our special guest artist Alan Roy Scott, who shared insights into his 30 year songwriting career, songs from his extensive catalog and his vision for Music Bridges, which has been bringing songwriters together around the world for 25 years to make a difference using the universal language - music.
Our WIMA Songwriters included Marchand Melcher, Linda Addington, Nancy Abercrombie, Ann Parenti, Susan Haller, Jazzin' Jeanne Brei, Laura Manning, Dolly Coulter, and myself.
The WIMA Visual Artists who displayed their artwork at the event were Iva Vassilev, Sladjana Vukovic, Cindy Davis & Terry Ritter. WIMA Authors Aimmee Kodashian, Ann Parenti and I brought our Life Choices books to the event as well.
More of our WIMA members were either lending a hand at the event including Tanja Nikolic Nobert, Paula Thompson, Joi Jeffries, Salenha Coleman, Stephanie Thompson or cheering us on in the audience including Carleen Gordon, Judith August, Ayele Eliane Amavigan, Candace Kruse. We also welcome two new members who joined during the event Chelette Contesse & Marilyn Turner.
Special thanks to WIMA Member Sarah Montes for introducing Alan Roy Scott to us. We missed her performance last night due to laryngitis and hope for her speedy recovery.
To Advisory Board Member Amy Frost we thank you for coming out to support us and for introducing WIMA to local businesses and non-profit organizations for community outreach opportunities.
Thank you to Jonathan Warren, the Honorary Consul of the Principality of Monaco for Nevada, Utah, Colorado and Wyoming for coming out to support us.
We thank the staff at Family Music, our engineer Kelly May, videographers Dale Sweetland & David Taylor, guitarist Jacob Chidester and pianist Rick DiBella, Curtis Parenti for serving refreshments and , Tanja Nikolic Nobert for taking photos.
My thanks to each and every one of our WIMA members for helping grow our organization. To Ann Parenti thank you for teaming up with me this month to tackle the business side of forming our organization, for being the “left brain” so my “right brain” tendencies may explore the endless possibilities for Women in Music and Arts.
This was our first WIMA Songwriter Showcase for 2012 and while having fun we also learned a lot from the experience.
Once again, thank you to all of our WIMA members and Friends of Women in Music and Arts for supporting our efforts and our vision “Empowering Artists of All Ages through Education & Mentorship.”
We look forward to our next big event coming in March when Women in Music and Arts team up with Scorpion Warrior on March 17th, 2012.
